Mochi asked: Are there any drawbacks in the Computer Networking career field?
I love computers and the idea in working in the Computer Networking field.
I am currently getting:
CompTIA A+ Cert
CompTIA S+ Cert
CompTIA N+ Cert
–
CCNA Cert
-by now I will be on an internship with a local ISP in telecommunications.
Eventually CCNP Cert
… etc.
Are their any drawbacks in the Networking field I should be concerned about?
I am looking for ANY suggestions and opinions about this.
I’m loving the answers! I want more! Please STAR my question to allow it to float for a while!

Mike asked:
I just checked my network list and there are 3 networks listed with the name:
“Unsecured computer to computer network” What exactly is this and does this pose a threat to my computer? I’m asking because I’m not sure if my computer allows access for other users to access my computer from this type of networking. Of course, I’m not really sure if I know what I’m talking lol. Thanks.
What exactly is computer to computer networking? What are they using to access my computer? As for now, I’m not connected to that computer to computer network so I’m wondering how someone is able to connect to my computer without my permission.

Hi. I am 19 and am thinking of attending Lincoln Tech for Computer Networking. For those who are in this career, will the training be very very tough (I know the Hardware will be, but mainly my focus is software). I was in small classes during High School and Lincoln Tech says I don’t need to know anything they will do the training and have great placements. So my 2 questions are 1. How tough is it to learn? 2. When I am working after School, what exactly will my main job be? Thank you so much for all of your help.

I’m wondering if any one can tell me about Computer Programming and Computer Networking? I’m currently in school and i’m thinking about going into I/T but, I don’t know what field would be better.
I have two kids so I when I graduate I want to be able to go into a computer field that I can make a LOT of money to support my family and that won’t stress me out as much. I’ve always been interested in computers and i’ve taken alot of computer courses in highschool but, haven’t officially decided what field to go into. I’ve never had anyone REALLY explain the different fields I could go into and the pros and cons.
If there is anyone majoring or working in these fields could you PLEASE tell me the pros and cons like: salary, if there’s travel time, perks, opportunities, if there is high or low job demand for a certain field. Also I want to know which field or job types will allow me to be around my family or if it will take alot of time from me and my family. Please help because, I officially have to pick a major soon!
